nGage for SharePoint 2010 launches
OI Software today launches a new family of tools and application products for the Microsoft SharePoint 2010 platform. Although diverse in functionality, they share a focus on driving user adoption: getting people to work consistently with and through SharePoint to create more transparent, more collaborative and more engaged organizations.

OI Software today launches a new nGage product family for the Microsoft SharePoint 2010 platform.
It includes a toolset for driving adoption:
- of any of SharePoint 2010’s out-of-the-box collaborative applications and social features
- of any external applications that are surfaced through SharePoint 2010
- and of any custom or 3rd party application that has been developed on SharePoint 2010. This includes nGage Advances – OI’s very own business collaboration and social computing applications for the SharePoint 2010 platform
The company is putting its initial emphasis on nGage Prime, which is being positioned as ‘the essential launch application’ for SharePoint 2010.
Paul Henry, OI Software’s CEO, says “nGage Prime carries forward a number of the core ideas from our nGage for MOSS product set; for example the focus on driving user adoption is still there – and there is still a big emphasis on making My Sites the centre of gravity for everything you want achieve with SharePoint. But we’ve executed in a very different way because we’ve leveraged so much of what’s new and better in 2010 - from both a development and a user perspective.“
So what do you get with nGage Prime? It includes two main applications:
- Openness – which transforms My Sites into an important resourcing application because it drives everyone to maintain a full and fresh skills and experience profile.
- Contributions - which is a tool kit for driving, measuring and celebrating adoption of any SharePoint 2010 feature or application.
nGage Prime also includes a number of viral networking features that help establish SharePoint generally –and My Sites specifically – as core to people’s engagement with their organization.
OI is also releasing three new collaborative applications for SharePoint 2010 under the banner of ‘nGage Advances’.
